Cupid's Chokehold

"She's got a smile that would make the most senile annoying old man bite his tongue (I'm not done)
She's got eyes comparable to sunrise
And it doesn't stop there (man I swear)
She's got porcelain skin of course she's a ten
And now she's even got her own song (But movin' on)
She's got the cutest laugh I ever heard
And we can be on the phone for three hours not sayin' one word
And I would still cherish every moment
And when I start to build my future she's the main component
Call it dumb, call it luck, call it love, or whatever you call it but
Everywhere I go I keep her picture in my wallet like here" Cupid's Chokehold by Gym Class Heroes feat. Patrick Stump

Trevor left Friday morning just like he said. Friday evening, I rushed home to get ready for the Bitter's Ball.

I had finished putting lotion all over my body after my shower when my phone rang. It was Jasmine, telling me she was outside. I threw on some basketball shorts and a tank over my undergarments and answered the door.

"Waiting on me to get ready?" Jasmine smiled at me as I let her in. She was holding her dress in her hands.

"Absolutely!" I said, leading her upstairs.

"Do you mind if we pick up Colton too?" Jasmine asked.

"Not at all. I'm designated driver tonight." I said as I took her to the second bedroom, letting her take a look around.

"Who are you bringing tonight?" Jasmine asked me as she examined the closet.

"My co-worker Kendal. He's pretty cute. Great body." I informed her, sitting on the bed.

"I'll be the judge of that." She said with a smile, walking into the bathroom.

"So? What do you think?" I asked when she came back into the room.

She grinned and sat on the bed with me. "I would be happier in this one room than any of the apartments I saw."

I laughed. "Great! We can move the furniture out if you want your own."

"No, the less I have to move the better." Jasmine said.

"Ok, we'll hammer out the details then you can move in as early as next weekend." I told her.

"Really? That soon?" Jasmine exclaimed.

"Yeah. It could be this week, but I want to deep clean in here first." I admitted.

"Thank you Lily! You don't even know how much you're helping me out." She said.

I leaned over and gave her a hug. "Hey, you're helping me too. I'm excited to have a roommate again!" I pulled away. "Even dressing up for a night out is so much more fun with someone else."

"I know. We need to get ready, especially if your co-worker is cute! I need first dibs." Jasmine said.

I laughed at her.

We went into my room and got ready together. I was still straightening my hair when Jasmine was done putting hot curlers in hers. Jasmine finished my hair for me, putting it in a half up half down style.

We did our makeup next. Since my dress was so colorful, I kept my makeup simple with a silver-green smoky eye, curled lashes and nude lips. Jasmine went with a more romantic look featuring rosy cheeks, pink lips and cat eye liner that I helped her apply.

Jasmine finished her hair while I put in silver hoop earrings. In less than 5 minutes, Jasmine had the curlers out and her hair flipped and sprayed with a holding spray. The end result was loose sexy curls.

"You have got to show me how you did that!" I demanded. "That looks amazing!"

"Thank you. I will if you show me how you did your lashes." She bargained.

"Mascara before and after curling. And when you curl, don't hold. Pump" I instructed her, strapping on my heels.

"What?" Jasmine said, putting on stilettos.

"Yes. I saw it in a tutorial." I nodded as we made our way down the stairs. I grabbed my phone from the charger. I saw I had a text from Trevor.

Trevor: I'll be back in the morning. Have fun tonight.

Me: You too... but not too much fun! Love you

I put my phone away.

"Ready Jasmine?"

"So ready."

We left and headed to Colton's apartment to pick him up. Colton was single and cute but one of Jake's close friend; therefore completely off-limits in Jasmine's eyes and the perfect date to accompany her to the Bitter's ball. He looked nice in dark jeans and a navy button down. He greeted me politely before hopping in the back seat.

Next, we picked up Kendal. He definitely did more than jeans and a shirt. He looked hot in black pants, a dress shirt unbuttoned enough to show off his built chest, and a gray blazer. I saw him pretty much every day at work and even I looked him over a couple of times. He looked that good.

"Switch seats with me Colton!" Jasmine was already unbuckling her seat belt and had the door open before Colton responded.

"Now!!!" She added when he didn't move.

I held back a laugh as they switched while Kendal approached the car.

Jasmine smiled at him as she scooted in the back seat. "He needed more leg room." She lied, offering him her hand. "I'm Jasmine"

"Kendal." He said, shaking her hand as he sat in the car. "You girls look gorgeous."

"Thank you. I love that blazer..." Jasmine cooed.

The rest of the drive to the lounge consisted of us playing the get to know you game. Or more like I officiated the game to keep Jasmine and Kendal chatting. Colton contributed every now and again.

When we got there, I spotted Ethan's car and parked next to it.

We got out and headed towards the door. When we walked in, Kendal stopped and pulled me aside.

"This might seem like a dumb question, but did you invite me to set me up with Jasmine?" He asked.

"Not specifically, but y'all are getting along right?" I smiled.

He gave me a weak smile. "Yeah, she's hot."

"And recently ended a relationship. Speaking of, are you and Heather dating?" I asked.

"No. Think I'm gonna follow your lead about dating people I work with." He answered.

"Oh no. What happened?"

"Nothing. She just got all clingy and crazy." He replied.

"Well, you don't have to worry about that with Jasmine..." I hinted.

He gave me a genuine smile. "Nice to know."

We walked in after that and joined everyone at the lower level of the lounge. It consisted of a huge bar, a few tables and couches, and the DJ booth while the upper section had tables for dining.

I found Taylor right away to thank her for inviting us. She looked pretty in a red fit and flare dress with a black lace overlay. She looked a little put out when I introduced Jasmine, but cheered up when I introduced her to the meat- er, guys- we brought.

Taylor led the guys to the bar for drinks while Jasmine and I went to greet Rocky. She was sitting at a table with Rachel, Serena and Ethan. I grinned happily when I saw Ethan and Serena engaged in a conversation.

"Hey guys! Happy Valentine's Day... A little early, but close enough." I greeted them with a wide smile.

Serena, Rachel and Rocky smiled and said hello and Ethan stood.

"I thought it was singles awareness day." Ethan corrected me.

"Only if you're single." I said, giving him a hug. He looked impeccable as usual, wearing slacks and a burgundy pullover sweater that was doing wonders for his upper body and skin tone.

"You look amazing." I said, honestly as I pulled back.

"Thank you. You look... healthy." He finished after a pause. I noticed his eyes flicker towards Rocky before looking at me.

I grinned. "Thanks, that's exactly what I was going for."

He moved over to allow me the seat next to Serena.

"Hey Lily! Let's go get a drink!" Rocky said, standing.

"Ok..." I barely got out as she pulled me away from Ethan.

"You need another right Rachel?" She asked.

"I do." Rachel stood up to join us. Jasmine followed.

"What was that?" I asked Rocky when she released my arm as we walked towards the bar.

"Nothing. Serena and Ethan were vibing." Rocky answered.

"I told you I'm fine with that. I fully support it! I wouldn't have sabotaged it." I exclaimed.

"I'm sure you are and you do, but you still would have sabotaged it." Rocky responded.

I was 2 seconds from asking her what she meant, but I got distracted by a statue of a dead cupid. An arrow was stuck through his body and he had X's over his eyes.

"Ohmigod, I need a picture! Take one of me so I can send it to Trevor." I asked, handing my phone to Rocky.

I made exaggerated poses next to the statute, including putting cupid in a chokehold.

"What did cupid do to you? " Forrest asked as he joined us. He gave Rachel a hug and a kiss on the cheek as he smiled at me.

"It's an anti-Valentine's party. No love! Those were the rules Forrest, including no significant others!" I pointed at him.

Rachel smiled. "Taylor made an exception cause we brought 4 single guys."

"Bullshit." I said as Forrest gave me a hug.

"Happy V-Day to you too." Forrest laughed. He hugged Jasmine and Rocky next. "You all look great."

"Thank you." We responded. Forrest looked great too. Freshly shaven, he looked handsome in khakis and a white polo.

"Are we gonna eat?" Forrest asked.

"We're supposed to mingle!" Rachel groaned.

"We're not single." Forrest argued.

"Speak for yourself. I'm hitting the bar." Jasmine said, waving goodbye to us.

"I'm with Forrest. We should eat." I replied.

"I can eat too." Rocky added.

"Fine." Rachel relented.

"Call Trevor and Brandon. They can join us." Forrest said as we headed to the hostess booth to get a table.

"Brandon's going out with friends. I'm meeting him later." Rocky told us.

"Trevor is in Austin." I said. Forrest nodded before asking for a table for 4.

"Really? Why?" Rocky asked, quickly.

"The website. He'll be back tomorrow."

During our wait to get a table, I texted Trevor the picture of me pretending to kill cupid with the caption:

I warned him to stop fucking with me...

15 minutes later, the table was ready. On my way upstairs, my eyes met briefly with Ethan's. I gave him a smile and a thumbs up before following Forrest. As we sat down, Trevor texted me back.

Trevor: "You are a murderer of love!"

I giggled. Steve Carrell was hilarious in that movie.

Me: LOL. You know it!

I put my phone away and concentrated on ordering. We coordinated what we wanted to eat. Forrest shook his head when Rachel said a salad. We then decided to order appetizers and share. I order an extra one for Jordan or me if she didnt show up. I took my phone out to call her.

"Where are you?" I asked when she answered.

"The bar. You're so late." She laughed.

"No, we got a table upstairs if you wanna join us." I told her.

"Let me get Steven settled and I will." Jordan replied.

Jordan came up maybe 5 minutes later and pulled up a chair.

We ate our food and drank while chatting. Around 9 pm, we were done. We went downstairs and Rocky checked her phone.

"I wonder if Ethan is ready to go..." Rocky said.

I looked towards him. Ethan and Serena were looking at something on his phone together. They were huddled closely together. It might be just to look at the phone, but I took it as a good sign.

"Don't be a cock block. Let me see if my group is ready." I grinned.

Jasmine and Kendal were at the bar. Jasmine was sitting on a bar stool as Kendal danced to Jason Derulo's "Ridin' Solo" against her. She had her arms around his neck, smiling and dancing in her seat.

"Hey, do y'all want to move to the next spot?" I asked, feeling a little guilty about breaking up their little party.

Jasmine looked at Kendal hopefully. "A club?" Kendal asked, turning to look at me.

I looked at Rocky.

"Yeah, in Downtown Dallas." Rocky nodded.

"Let's go." Kendal said and Jasmine grinned.

I went to retrieve Colton. He exchanged numbers with Taylor. As he did, Jordan found Steven then we left. Rocky rode with Jordan, so there was plenty of room.

When we got to the club, the line to get in was massive. While we waited, Rocky called Brandon. When he said they were on the patio, we went to find them to see if it was worth waiting in line.

We found Brandon and he still wanted to chill at the club. I was shocked when Rocky was ready to head back in line. The Rocky I knew would have rolled her neck and gave him an evil look, forcing Brandon to leave. It looked like we would be waiting in line, until Kendal climbed over the little fence closing of the patio. I looked around, before taking off my shoes to do the same.

"C'mon bae." Brandon laughed at Rocky, motioning her to him so he could help her over. She quickly went over. I looked around before I tossed my heels over and did the same.

Colton went next and Kendal helped Jasmine over too. I was putting on my shoes but paused as I watched Kendal groped Jasmine as he helped her up. Jordan was the last one after Steven.

"C'mon on!" I waved at her.

"This is so wrong." She complained, loudly as Steven offered to help.

"Shut the fuck up or go wait in line!" I threatened her. Harsh, yeah, but my adrenalin was pumping from breaking the rules. She was killing it with feeling of guilt.

Everyone in hearing distance laughed while Jordan shot me a dirty look. We crept to the table Brandon had. Malik was standing up, applauding us.

"Nice. I'm never paying to get in here again." He laughed.

Brandon laughed too. "Be cool brother."

I greeted everyone with a smile, including Jake. Jasmine bypassed all of us, leading Kendal inside to the dance floor. Jake's eyes followed them before he nodded at me and went back to whatever conversation he was having with the girl standing beside him.

"Lily!" Kelly gushed, as she gave me a hug. She was already drunk.

"Hey beautiful! Having fun?" I asked, hugging her.

"Better if someone would dance with me." Kelly said, looking at Omar. He didn't acknowledge her. He did give me a little smile, which I returned.

We had barely found seats when a bouncer came outside. He started checking hands for stamps. Rocky and I looked at each other.

Oh fuck...

"I need to see stamps guys." He said, in a deep, authoritative voice.

"I told you guys." Jordan whined. I glared at her.

"Right here man." Jake said, holding out his hand. After the guy shined his little light on it, Jake shook the guy's hand. The bouncer shoved his hand into his pocket before heading off.

"That's it?" Jordan said, shocked.

Jake shrugged and Rocky sighed, relieved. "I need a drink. What do you want baby?" Rocky asked Brandon.

"Crown." Brandon replied.

"I'll come too." Jordan said. Rocky nodded and looked at me.

"I'm good. I'm driving." I replied.

After they left, I stood up and moved closer to Jake. He turned away from the girl and looked at me.

"How much did you pay that bouncer?" I asked.

"A little more than it would have cost y'all to get in." He replied.

I reached into my purse to pay him back.

"No. Keep it. Tell me about the guy that was pawing at my sister." Jake asked.

I smiled. "Who snitched? No way you could have seen that from here.

"Don't worry about that. Who is he?" He said, a small smile forming on his face.

"I think I'm gonna head to the bar." The girl Jake was talking to announced. When Jake just nodded, she left, looking me up and down as she left.

"You better go after her. She looked pissed that you started talking to me."

"Naw. She'll be more eager to win me back from you. Talk." He said.

"Kendal is a therapist like me. We're a good people. Compassionate, helping,-"

"Can't keep y'alls hands to
yourselves?" Jake interrupted with a full on smile.

"Whatever. It's a healing touch..." I supplied, when I heard Kelly burst out laughing. She was pointing at me and Jake.

"It's your song Lily." She cracked herself up. I struggled to hear the song over the chatter. I then heard the chorus to Chris Brown's "Loyal"

Jake looked annoyed, Omar looked so embarrassed and Kelly just laughed. I gave her a smile.

"You know me. Hoes ain't loyal." I joked.

Kelly laughed harder. "That's not true. Come dance with me! Prove no hard feelings." She begged, desperately.

I nodded and Jake turned to me.

"She's cut off from anymore alcohol." He said, quietly.

"I used to be a bartender. I would have cut her off 3 drinks ago." I said quickly before threading my arm through Kelly's.

We made a completely spectacle of ourselves.  Kelly was drunk and all over the place and I was just trying to keep up. A guy jokingly tried to dance on Kelly from behind, but she turned around, waving her wedding band in his face.

"I'm married!" She yelled at the poor guy.

"I'm gay!" He yelled back.

Kelly flushed a deep red. Hopefully that would sober her up...

I lightened the mood by holding my left hand in the air. "No ring here!" I declared, waving it around, Beyonce style, before twerking on him, Miley style. The guy laughed and we had a blast dancing with him for a few more songs.

Kelly still wanted to dance, but I begged her off, saying we should get some water. We returned to the table, water in hands and I took a well deserved break.

"Is it closing time yet?" I asked Rocky as she sat in Brandon's lap. "I'm exhausted. I'm so ready to go home."

"You probably need to before you twerk on more guys." Jordan responded.

"It was just a joke-" I started to explain the situation when Jordan cut me off.

"I don't think Trevor would find that funny." Jordan argued.

I shook my head and drank my water. I was just going to ignore her. How was she going to tell me about Trevor? The conversation was stupid.

"I just don't want you to make the same mistakes." She continued.

Really? She was going to say that with Jake standing right there? I put my drink down.

"The only mistake made was letting outside influences impact my relationships. So when I want or need your opinion, I'll ask. Don't hold your breath though." I informed her.

"Don't get defensive. I'm only trying to help." Jordan said, snootily.

"What Trevor and I have is between us. I don't need your help to define my relationship for me. For all you know, Trevor and I are in an open relationship and go swinging on the weekend. It still wouldn't be your concern unless I asked you to join us. Once again, don't hold your breath." I said, smiling back at her.

"Whatever. I'm going home to my boyfriend." She bristled.

"Bye! Happy Valentine's Day!" I said, cheerfully as she stood to leave. She ignored me and walked off.

"I don't remember you being so combative." Jake chuckled when she left.

"I learned the hard way what happens if you don't speak up about the things that are important to you." I commented.

Jake just nodded.

I left a little after Jordan and Steven. Jake offered to take Jasmine, Kendal and Colton home. I knew it was a ploy to keep tabs on Jasmine, but I was too tired to care.

On my way out, Omar stopped me.

"Thank you Lily. I'm sorry for-"

I stopped him. "No problem. We're cool. Happy Valentine's Day." I told him.

"You too."

I went home, pulled off my dress, put on a t-shirt and crashed in bed. My skin and hair were going to rebel against me in the morning, but I figured I'd have time to get them both in line.

In the middle of the night, I was awoken by a dip in my bed behind me. It was too big to be Justine and I stiffened. Right before I could react, familiar arms embraced me.

"It's me Lilypad. Relax." Trevor said, in a drowsy voice.

"Goddammit Trevor. Stop surprising me. One of these days I'm gonna accidentally attack you." I relaxed in his arms, my heartbeat returning to a normal pace as I rolled over to face him.

"Then you'll really be a murderer of love." He grinned.

I smiled. "Shut up Trevor!" I said, burrowing myself in his embrace.

"Happy Valentine's Day." He said, brushing his lips into mine.

"Happy Valentine's Day." I responded, kissing him back.

***Lily's and Trevor's Valentine's Day date will be next. I will also do a post of Corey and Sammy too sometime this week since I had a request for their relationship. Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Weekend!

Blurred Lines

****Sorry about the lateness and errors. I will correct them when I have a chance!

"OK now he was close, tried to domesticate you

But you're an animal, baby, it's in your nature
Just let me liberate you
Hey, hey, hey
You don't need no papers
Hey, hey, hey
That man is not your maker
And that's why I'm gon' take a good girl
I know you want it (x3)
You're a good girl
Can't let it get past me
You're far from plastic
Talk about getting blasted
I hate these blurred lines
I know you want it (x3)
But you're a good girl
The way you grab me
Must wanna get nasty
Go ahead, get at me" Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke

"Trevor stop... I gotta take Justine for a run." I protested, weakly as Trevor laid me down at the foot of the bed where he was standing.

He grabbed me by my calves, right above my socks and tennis shoes, the only thing I was wearing. He pulled me to the edge of the bed, spreading my legs. When he rubbed his erection against me, I knew Justine was my last chance to get him to stop before I couldn't override my body's demands. Its demands were simple: Trevor.

I would think my body had enough. I flushed thinking about how quickly things escalated in the kitchen, then the living room, and finally my bed the evening before. Even exhausted and thoroughly satisfied, I couldn't get enough of him. Just the feel of his body pressed so intimately against mine the next morning ignited a familiar spark between my legs. I needed to get a hold of myself.
That's why I ignored my body's wants and untangled myself from his embrace. I looked over at him. He was out like a light; not surprising considering how we celebrated his return to Dallas the night before...

I pushed those thoughts out of my head and quickly got out of bed and went into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and washed my face. I decided I should go for a run before I went to work. A hard run and a hot shower would do me some good.

When I came out the bathroom, Trevor was awake, kicking off the covers and exposing his nude, lean body to me.

Make that a cold shower.

I greeted him with a small smile before rushing into my closet and throwing on some workout clothes. I sat on the empty bed, putting on my socks and shoes when Trevor reappeared from the bathroom, still naked.

When he stared at me, giving me that look with his memorizing blue eyes, I knew I was in trouble. I came up with every excuse for why we should wait till I got home as he removed my all my clothes, kissing and rubbing every inch of my exposed skin. I was hoping his concern for Justine would surpass his concern for his hard-on...

"I'll take her after." Trevor assured me, as he pushed into my sore but aroused body. "Do you really want me to stop?" He groaned. I gasped, struggling to catch my breath, and shook my head no. He kept pushing into me, filling me with conflicting feelings of pleasure and pain.
Pleasure won out as he leaned over, sucking on my neck as he thrust into me, faster and faster. I was so close when he trembled, groaning as he came. Trevor pulled out, placing his fingers inside me. He stroked me, teasing me before I came hard on his fingers.

I was lying there, recovering, as Trevor watched me with a pleased smile on his face. It was on the tip of my tongue to make a smart aleck remark, but my phone's alarm went off before I could think of it. I had to get ready for work! And now I had to take a shower!

I rushed to shower and got changed, refusing Trevor's offers of help. I told him he helped enough and hurried to get ready. I made it to work only 10 minutes late, pulling my hair up in a ponytail as I hustled inside.

"Late..." Jordan teased, clicking her tongue at me.
I stuck mine out at her and got to work.

Jordan was the only one who noticed my lateness, so I went about my day as normal. I took my lunch later than Jordan since I had to stay late for my appointment with Coach Green. Jordan was nice enough to pick up a salad and deli rolls from the grocery store to share with me. I sat done and began to eat as she was finishing.

We talked about going shopping together after work Thursday with Jasmine and Rocky to pick out dresses for the party. I was waiting to hear from Rachel before giving Jordan a definite time. Rachel had to make sure she could get off at a decent hour before committing to joining us. Jasmine and Rocky already said they would join us. Jasmine also told me she would talk to me then.
Jordan was getting ready to go back to work when Kendal joined us.

"Wuz up ladies?" He said, sitting down across from me.

"Nothing much. How's your day going?" I asked, giving him a smile.

"No complaints." He answered.

"Alright y'all, I gotta go. Text me as soon as you hear from Rachel about tomorrow." She said, before leaving.

"Ok." I nodded.

"What's up tomorrow?" Kendal asked.

"Nothing, just dress shopping for the Bitter's Ball." I replied.

"Is it really a ball?" Kendal asked, nervously.

I grinned. "No, it's at a lounge. More like a cocktail party."

"Good. I didn't know if I needed to rent a tux or something."

"No, guys are lucky. Y'all can throw jeans and a button down and be fine." I stated.

"Don't worry; I'll do more than that. When you figure out what you're wearing, send me a picture."

"Will do. Do you want to hang out at my place after work? I don't want you to have to drive all the way to Denton, then to Fort Worth." I offered.

"I don't live in Denton anymore. I got an apartment in Richardson."

"Really? Where is that?"

"North Dallas area. Maybe 20 minutes from Addison." Kendal responded.

"What are the prices like in that area?"

"Why? You thinking about moving?" He asked.
"Nope, I have a friend looking." I told him.

"It's definitely cheaper than Addison."

"I'll look into it then." I looked at my phone. "I gotta go back. See ya later."

After my last appointment of the day, I headed home. I called Trevor on the way.

"Hey, you at home?" He asked.

"On my way. Where are you at?"

"Heading back to your apartment. You had to work late?"

"Kinda. Sandra micromanaged my last appointment, so it made it longer. I usually get off later on

Mondays and Wednesdays." I explained.

"Do you want me to pick up something to eat on the way?"

"Yes, please and thank you!"

"What do you want?-"

"You son of a bitch!" I exclaimed, hitting my brakes when some huge ass SUV cut me off to switch lanes. It was halfway in my lane and there was no way around the big vehicle. I stared at it, incredulously, as it braked too.

"Get over! You already fucked me over dude!" I hissed, waving the SUV over.
The driver struggled to get their car straightened in front of me.

"Of course! You have a big piece of shit SUV you can't even drive!!!" I exclaimed.

Trevor laughed at me. "I'll figure dinner out. Get off your phone and stop road raging."

"Urgh, fine." I agreed, hanging up.

I made it home about 20 minutes later than it normally took.

"Honey! I'm home!" I called out, joining him in the living room.

"It's about time darling." Trevor said, standing up and giving me a kiss. "Didn't assault anyone did you?"

"Not physically... McDonald's?" I said, noticing the take out bags he had sitting on the table.

"Sounded like you needed some McLovin'." Trevor said, holding up the movie Superbad.

I laughed. "Always down for some McLovin. Let me go change."

I ran upstairs and changed into an oversized t-shirt and leggings before joining Trevor back downstairs, on the couch in front of the TV.

We sat and munched on French fries, burgers, chicken nuggets and apple pies as we watched the movie. Trevor and I both love the movie. We spent the night laughing at the super cast of Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Bill Hader, and Emma Stone. I snuggled up to Trevor on the couch when I was done eating.

"I could get used to this." I sighed.

"Superbad?" Trevor said.

I grinned. "More like coming home to you."

Trevor smiled as he traced a finger over my face. I took a deep breath, my stomach fluttering just from his simple touch.

"I think it's McLovin..." Trevor teased me.

"Shut up." I laughed as he kissed me.

Thursday, Rachel got in touch with me and she was able to join us on our shopping trip. After work, I changed and headed straight to the mall. We weren't meeting for another hour, but I told Jasmine I'd be there early so we could talk.

I found her at the food court. We ordered orangeades before finding a table to sit down and talk.

"I wanted to ask you if that offer to move in is still open." Jasmine said.
I was so shocked. I didn't expect her to ask me that at all. She seemed so sure, no, more like determined, to live on her own.

"...If it's not, I get it-" Jasmine was saying when I tuned back in.

"No. Sorry. I'm just surprised. What changed your mind?" I questioned her.

"Talking to you, and the girls and my parents; everyone pretty much told me the same thing: to do what's best for me. If I'm being real with myself, I was in such a rush to get my own place so I could prove to Reggie how much better I'm doing without him. Being stuck in a crappy apartment is not what's best for me." Jasmine explained.

"Do you think living with me is what's best for you?"

"Yes and no. Owning a house would be what's best. Paying to own and not rent makes more sense. I'm just not ready to make that commitment with Jocelyn yet. I thought I could give her until June to show me her true self." Jasmine said.

"So you're testing her?" I said, tilting my head to the side.

"Something like that." She smiled.

"Exactly like that." I nodded.

"Maybe, but not only that. It'll give me some time to save and look for a better job, you know?" Jasmine continued.

"I think that's a great idea. My offer definitely still stands-" I was cut off by my phone ringing. I picked it up when I saw it was Rachel. I told her where we were at. I hung up and turned to Jasmine.

"We'll work out the details, but I'm all for it!" I smiled. Jasmine smiled too.

"Great."

Rachel arrived and we stood up and made our way to the designated meeting spot. When we arrived, Rocky was already there.

"I thought this was the meeting spot." Rocky snapped, eyeing us suspiciously.

"Yep, we just saw each other in the parking lot." I grinned, giving her a hug.

"Mmhmm, you're full of shit." She said before greeting the other girls.

We stood and chatted while we waited for Jordan. She finally showed up.

"Sorry I'm late. I had to buy a few more supplies for that cabin this weekend." Jordan apologized.

We then started our dress hunt. While we shopped, Rachel told us how she waited until the last minute to plan her Valentine's date with Forrest, and was now struggling to put something together.

"Wait a second. I'm super confused. I haven't planned anything for Trevor. I just got him a gift. Is it my job?" I asked, confused. All the girls were putting things together. I thought that was the guy's job...

"Y'all should talk about that." Jordan shook her head at me.

"Forrest and my idea of date nights are so different, we take turn planning dates. It's my turn, but I've been so busy, it slipped my mind." Rachel lamented.

I looked at Rocky.

She shrugged. "I just wanted to do something for my man."

I nodded and turned back to Rachel. "I know something Forrest wants, and it's super easy..."

I explained to her Forrest and my conversation after the Philip and Jake fiasco.

"He said to suggest the apron lingerie and fondue idea with you when we're closer friends." I finished.

Jasmine kinda chuckled at me, but stopped.

"What?" I asked her.

"Nothing." Jasmine smiled, shaking her head.

"Tell me!"

"No wonder you and my brother were such as mess." Jasmine finally said.

"I know!" I agreed. I turned to Rachel. "And I'm aware how that conversation could have blurred the lines of friendship with Forrest. I'm sorry. My only excuse was that it was before our talk and I didn't realize how inappropriate I was being." I explained.

Rachel waved me off. "At least now I have a plan, so thank you." She said, shortly.

I couldn't tell if she was being sarcastic or not.

"First rule of being roommates, no sketchy dudes allowed." I told Jasmine, trying to lightening the mood.

"Agreed." Jasmine laughed.

"Y'all are moving in together?" Rocky asked.

I nodded. "Yes." I held up a dress to show Jasmine. She shook her head no.

"When? Are you starting a new lease?" Rocky interrogated us.

"We're going to work out the details later, but definitely no new lease." I said.

"I really just want something temporary so I can make permanent decisions." Jasmine explained.

"Why not just stay with your parents until then?" Rachel asked.

"Because I feel like I'm trapped in a cage. I need my own space. I feel pathetic living with my dad."
Jasmine said.

"I understand. I felt the same way." I commented.

"How does Trevor feel about it?" Jordan asked.

Jasmine shot me a concerned look.

"He's completely fine with it. He actually suggested it." I reassured her.

"Really?" Jasmine said disbelief in her voice.

"Really." I smiled. "I will warn you, we're kinda disgustingly all over each other but I promise we'll contain it in my room after you move in." I promised as we took our selections in the fitting room.

"Another rule!" Jasmine called to me, still searching the clothes as we left.

"It'll probably be over when Jasmine moves in, once the newness fades off." Jordan said as we went into separated fitting rooms.

"I doubt it." I contradicted her. "Who knows, come June we might be moving in together." I shrugged.

"Lily, it's way too soon to be thinking like that. You are going to freak him out." Jordan said, over the fitting room wall.

"I don't think so. Trevor is not like that. I told him the other day I loved coming home to him. We were practically inseparable on the weekends when he was in Austin." I told her when I stepped out of the dressing room. I examined myself in the mirror. I loved the multicolored sequin dress.

"Weekends and living together are two different things. Trust me, I know." Jordan said, stepping out in a cute sweater dress.

"I like that!" I gushed.

"I don't. It's boring."

"I'll take it!" I said.

"I'm serious though Lily. Don't rush things just because you're in a honeymoon phase." Jordan lectured.

"I'm not, but I don't think Trevor and I fall under regular dating rules. We've been friends for 8 years.
It's not a "honeymoon phase". We know and understand each other. It's not just new, it's right." I pointed out to her.

"Ok..." Jordan said, but she didn't sound convinced.

Rocky came out from a fitting room, in a killer dress.

"Lily, you are killing that dress." She complimented me.

"I was just about to say the same to you. I think we found our Bitter's Ball dresses." I beamed.

"I thought you wanted this one." Jordan said.

"I do, for my date with Trevor." I smiled.

"What date?" She smiled back, before heading back to the fitting room.

I rolled my eyes at her.

We purchased our dresses and kept shopping for the other girls.

Jordan found a dress at Express and Jasmine found her dress at H&M. We talked Rachel into a white dress, telling her she should wear nothing but white dresses until she got married, a la Kim Kardashian's 2nd engagement.

Rocky pulled me to the side as we were leaving.

"Don't listen to Jordan. Do what's right for you."

"I plan on it. I don't know why she's being so negative. I know she liked Jake better, but she needs to get over it." I said.

"She sounds salty if you ask me."

"Whatever it is, I'm not worried about it. I know what Trevor and I have. I don't need to convince her or anyone else."

Rocky nodded. "One more thing: I'm bringing Ethan to the Bitter's ball."

"Really? How did you get him to agree with that?" I asked.

Rocky smirked. "I have my ways."

I smiled. "Okay. Why did you?"

"Serena. I think they'll make a good match." Rocky informed me. She studied me. "Is that a problem?"

"No." I said, truthfully. "Kinda salty I didn't think of it myself!"

When I got home, Trevor wasn't there so is started cooking dinner. I was stuffing chicken breast with butter and parsley when Trevor came back. I smiled as I looked at his haircut. Gone were the curls with the shorter length.

"What'd I tell you about having dinner on my table when I get home woman?" He joked, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"What'd I tell you about cutting your hair?" I teased him back, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"I go back to work Monday. It's easier shorter." He explained.

"True. Maybe I'll cut my hair too." I said, breading the chicken. I knew how much he hated when I cut my hair in college.

"You better not. I like it wild and untamed. It suits you."

"I think curls suit you."

"Not the work me." He sighed. I put the chicken in the oven and turned to him.

"How are you feeling going back to work?" I asked, thinking about how my brother said he hated his job.

"Like the end of a vacation."

"It doesn't have to be a vacation." I suggested, trying to be supportive, even though I didn't agree.

"Well, it is for now. I'll see what'll happen with the website and go from there."

"Ok."

"Speaking of the website, Kenji called me. He's surprising Cat this weekend in Austin. He wants to meet with me."

"That's cool." I said, focusing on putting a salad together and not my disappointment at not spending Valentine's together.

"I'm going to leave tomorrow morning and be back for Valentine's Day." Trevor smiled at me.

"It's not important. We don't even have plans." I shrugged, trying to be calm about it. I was secretly thrilled.

"Says who?" Trevor asked me, with a wink.

"Even if we did, I understand you need to take care of the website. Any ideas what Kenji wants to talk about?" I asked.

"None at all."

While the food was cooking, I took him to my room and I showed him my dresses. I also took a picture of the one I was wearing to the party and sent it to Kendal. Then I told him about Jasmine moving in.

"Just make sure y'all talk out everything. Maybe even get a contract." He grinned at me.

"Look who's talking!" I said, kicking him in the butt. He grabbed my leg and tackled me to the bed.

We rolled around, playing until we started kissing.

"Trevor... stop."

"You still don't mean it." He murmured against my neck.

"I don't, but I have to. Only because of the food." I smiled, rubbing his shorter hair.

"I'm insulted. You putting food over this..." he said, running his finger down my body.

"You know it's a compliment that they're even in the same category."

He laughed and pulled me up from the bed. We went downstairs and I checked on the chicken Kiev. I turned the oven off and grabbed the salad out the refrigerator.

We made our plates and took them to the living room to sit down and eat. I bugged him about telling me what we were doing on Saturday.

"You already told me what you had planned to do on Valentine's Day." Trevor said.

"When?" I said, confused.

"Last year, when I asked you if you wanted to see 50 Shades of Grey together. You told me-"

"I would be spending it with my boyfriend." I smiled, remembering the conversation we had in my brother's kitchen.  At the time, I was trying to convince him of my commitment to Jake.

"You sure that's what you want?" Trevor said, putting down his plate and scooting closer to me.

"That's all I want." I said, throwing my arms around him.

"You mean it this time? Cause I know you didn't mean spending it with me last time." He said, embracing me.

"I mean it! That's what I want. I don't even care what we do!"

"I don't believe you." He smiled.

I kissed him passionately on the lips.

"I almost believe you..." he said against my lips when I pulled back.

I straddled him and kiss him again.

"Ok. I know you want it."

I laughed and kissed him again.

"So 50 Shades of Grey it is?" Trevor asked.

"No!!!"

Our First Time

*Sorry it's late guys. Just wanted to get this scene right :-)

"And now here we are
In this big old empty room
Staring at each other, who's gonna make the first move?
Been doing our thing for a minute
And now both our hearts are in it
The only place to go, is all the way
Is that alright?
Is that okay?
Girl, No need to be nervous
Cause I got you all night
Don't you worry bout a thing
Just go with it, go with it, go with it
(and I will go real)
Slow with it, slow with it
It's our first time" Our First Time by Bruno Mars

We went back into the bar and had a great time. We spent it joking, laughing and dancing with our friends. When last call was announced, Trevor and I grinned at each other. As much fun as we were having, both of us were ready to get out of there.

Corey drove us straight to the Super 8, bypassing Cat's apartment and the after party. Sammy, subtlety not being a quality she possessed, asked if we had condoms. I ignored her while Trevor shook his head.

Corey dropped Trevor off at the lobby and he went in to get us a room. When he returned with hotel keys, we separated from Corey and Sammy and headed to our room.

"I don't have condoms." Trevor confessed. "There's a gas station up the road."

I smiled at him. "We're ok."

"We're ok cause we don't need them? Or we're not using them?" Trevor asked.

"Both." I said.

He paused when we got to the door. He looked at me questioningly instead of opening it.

"We don't have to use them cause I'm on birth control, so technically we don't need them. But if you want to, go ahead. I know it's safer that way. I don't mind either way." I blabbered, in excruciating detail as he just smiled at me.

"No, I just wanted to make sure you knew what I had planned." Trevor said, wiggling his eyebrows as he unlocked the door. I giggled nervously as he opened the door.

I walked into the room, remembering the first time we came here together. I was such a mess and afraid that Trevor's opinion of me would change if I told him everything about my past. I remembered how patient and understanding he was; how he told me it only made him want to be with me more; and how we kissed for the first time the next morning.

I was so nervous about what that kiss meant for us, I couldn't fully enjoy it. I took a deep breath to calm my nerves. I wasn't going to make the same mistake that night.

"Are you nervous?" Trevor asked, watching me.

"A little." I admitted. "You?"

"I'm more horny than anything." Trevor joked.

I laughed and walked over to him. I locked my hands around his neck. "Are you gonna do something about it?" I teased him.

He grinned at me, wrapping his arms around me.

"That's the plan." He said, before kissing me on the lips.

His kiss was just as passionate and sweet as it was at the bar, but there was a sense of urgency that wasn't there before. It was in the way his mouth captured my bottom lip and he held me tight, his hands caressing my back under my jacket. It was loving but allowed me no opportunity to pull away. I wasn't planning to, so I kissed him back and held him tightly too to show him I wasn't going anywhere.

He released me, briefly, to remove my jacket. He stared into my eyes, his eyes a dark blue hue. I loved it when he looked at me like that. It made me feel so desirable and loved.

"Great plan." I complimented him as I removed his jacket too and tossed it on the same chair he tossed mine. I turned around, so he was facing my back. His hands instantly went around me, hugging me close.

It was on the tip of my tongue to tell him to unzip my dress, but the words were lost as his fingers plucked my hardened nipples through my dress. When his lips found a sensitive spot on the back of my neck, I gasped, losing all train of thoughts.

Trevor must have found my thoughts, cause one of his hands unzipped my dress as the other fondled my body.

"You make the sexiest sounds." Trevor breathed against my ear, pushing the dress off my shoulders.

When the dress fell to the floor, I stepped out of it and away from him. I turned around to face him, wearing only a matching blue lace boyshorts and bra combination.

"You should get naked and make me make some more." I suggested.

He smiled. "Lay down." He said, nodding to the bed.

I complied and watched as he removed his shirt and jeans. He joined me on the bed, laying on top of me, placing his mouth on mine. He then rained kisses down my body, enticing all types of sounds from me. I was completely naked, my body humming with pleasure when he moved from between my legs and returned back to my mouth.

I groaned in his mouth when I tasted myself on his lips. He pulled away to pull off his boxers. Once he had them off, he positioned himself between my legs. His eyes bore into mine as he pushed into me slowly. I panted and moaned, but I never broke eye contact with him. He sank all the way inside of me.

"Is that alright?" Trevor murmured as he halted all movement as I adjusted to him. "Is that ok?

I nodded. "I'm good."

"Yeah you are." He breathed, heavily. "You feel so good Lily. So... so good." He groaned and I cried out as he began to move inside of me. "How does it feel for you?"

I responded after I caught my breath "Good,.. better than good." I said, moaning every time he pushed into me. "Perfect."

He rewarded my answer with a hard stroke, pushing deeply inside, grinding against my pelvis, deliciously. I yelped and he kept up that movement, stroking into me slowly. I matched his rhythm, pushing up into him. His lips found mine again, kissing me hungrily in between groans.

He kept up the slow pace, building my climax slowly. My body was trembling, needing relief. I could see his arms that were planted on the bed shaking with restraint.

I arched my hips up quicker, signaling him to go faster. He obliged, moving one hand to the back of my head to hold me as he thrust in and out of me rapidly. My body was racing for the finish now.

"Come Lily, come!" Trevor pleaded, pumping into me frantically.

That pushed me over the edge and I came, crying out as my body clenched down on him tightly. Trevor groaned loudly as I felt him come inside me.

He laid on top of me, kissing me deeply as he finished.

My body stopped spasming when he stopped moving. He slipped out of me and collapsed next to me.

"Jesus, that was incredible." Trevor breathed heavily.

I just nodded, unable to form words at the moment

He looked over at me, rubbing the sweat from his face on the pillow. He gave me a lopsided grin. "I know you didn't have high expectations, but that exceeded all of mine."

I laughed. "Why do you say that?" I croaked out.

"You said even if it sucked, you still wanted to be with me."

I pushed him. "I didn't mean it like that and you know it."

He laughed at me.

"I really had no expectations. I didn't want to have this huge build up that can only lead to disappointment." I continued.

"What every man wants to hear after sex. Disappointment." Trevor smiled.

"Stop it! It was far from a disappointment. Better than anything I imagined." I confessed.

Trevor rolled over then, running his hand over my sensitive skin.

"I imagined a lot." He grinned.

I smiled back at him. "I'm sure you did. Wanna tell me about it?"

"I'd rather show you." He said, moving in for a kiss.

Trevor made good on his promise. He brought us both another orgasm as he thrust into me slowly as we laid on our sides. I passed out after that. I didn't know how long I slept or what time of the day it was when Trevor woke me up with kisses on my neck and his fingers between my legs. I was fully awake and grinding into his leg when he pulled me on top of him, asking me to ride him.

I did. All of Trevor's teasing as I slept had me ready to combust. I was eager to come. I braced my hands on his chest as gyrated my hips over his erection, only thinking of my own pleasure. I felt a little guilty about it till I saw his face. He was grabbing my breasts, his face pure pleasure as he watched me ride him. I rode him fast, bringing myself to an orgasm.

He sat up quickly as I came, holding my hips roughly over his as he thrust up into me. I bounced up and down on his lap until he finally came. I collapsed against his chest and barely remembered him laying us down before I fell back asleep.

The next time I woke up was to a loud banging on the door. I moved as fast as I could, my body stiff from just waking up and mine and Trevor's escapades. I pulled on my dress and walked gingerly to the door. I looked out the peephole before cracking it open.

"Hey." I said to Sammy, squinting in the sunlight.

"Hey! We're about to head out. I wanted to let you know. I tried calling." She said.

"Sorry. I'm not even sure where my phone is. Why are y'all leaving so early?"

"It's 11:00am! Corey has to work tonight. I would ask how your night went, but obviously, it was good." She smirked at me.

"Shut up Sammy." I said, but I couldn't help the sly grin on my face. "Let me grab some shoes."

I grabbed Trevor's key and they drove me to Cat's apartment to get Trevor's car. When we got there, Sammy got out and gave me a hug.

"Alright. I'll get the details from you later." She smiled. "Bye girl!"

"Yeah, call me when you get home. Thank you for coming."

"No problem. We had a great time." Sammy said, before turning around and hopping back in the car.

I drove back to the hotel. I went back inside and woke Trevor.

"Huh?" Trevor said, groggily.

I smiled at him. "It's close to noon."

He stretched. "Come back to bed."

"No. We gotta get going. Check out is in 30 minutes."

"I'll get another night."

"I can't stay another night. I have work in the morning."

"I'll drive you back. You can sleep in the car."

"No, you need to be out here, getting your shit to move back to Dallas."

"Just stay. I'll blow you."

I laughed. "No. Get up!"

"Will you blow me to get me up?"

I jumped on the bed instead. He finally got up to tackle me down.

After we play wrestled and I beat him, pinning him to the bed, we got up and headed for Bilal's apartment. Bilal was sitting on the couch, playing with Justine. She ran to the door as soon as she saw us.

"She left you. Don't run to her. Have some pride." Bilal lectured her.

I smiled as I bent over to pet her. "No I didn't. You know momma loves you." I cooed at her as she licked my face. "Thanks for looking after her."

"My pleasure. Although, I might have to call PETA on you. I don't know what you're teaching her. She was twerking all morning when I let her out of the room." Bilal said.

Trevor busted out laughing. "Lily taught her well!"

"She does not twerk! She shakes her butt when she's excited. She doesn't have a tail to wag." I corrected both of them.

"Whatever. I know what I saw. She was looking for a treat afterwards. I told her I don't pay for that." Bilal smiled.

"You're stupid!" I laughed.

I changed clothes and gathered all my things while talking to Trevor about when he was moving back.

"I report back to work Tuesday, the 17th, so definitely before this weekend."

"Sounds good." I said, my bags all packed before I kissed Trevor good bye on the lips. The goodbye kiss turned into another, then another, until we were both undressed, back in his bed, wrestling again for control. I didn't fight him when he got on top and pinned my arms down. When it was over, we both won.

When I left, Bilal said bye to me and Justine, calling her Miley. I threatened him bodily harm if he ever called her that again.

Trevor watched me with a soft, easy smile on his face. I smiled back and we exchanged I love you's before I left.

When I got back to Dallas, I picked up a sandwich and crashed after I ate.

By Monday, I was back to my routine. I spent my lunch break catching up with my friends on Facebook. Taylor, Rachel's friend, sent out a group invitation to a bitter's ball she was hosting Friday the 13th. No significant others allowed. She texted me and the other girls to make sure we brought single, available guys to the party.

After work on Monday, I chatted with Jordan to see if she was going to the bitter's ball. She said yes, as she and Derek were going out Saturday to celebrate Valentine's Day. They were renting a cabin with another couple for the weekend. She was planning to bring Steven, my ex-coworker that worked with Derek now, to the bitter's ball.

"I don't know who I should bring. Would it be weird to invite a guy I slept with?" I pondered.

"If it was anyone else, yes, but you're friends with your exes. If you don't feel weird about it, go for it."

I was still thinking about it when I got home that night. By Tuesday, I figured I would just ask Kendal. Nothing to think about with that decision. I knew Kendal would be down to go with me. He did say he wanted to hang out as friends, and I didn't think him and Heather were official. I forwarded him the invite, asking him if he wanted to be bitter with me.

He responded in less than 30 minutes with a "Hell yes!"

I spent my Tuesday morning running errands and my afternoon catching up on chores and laundry.

I got a text from Jasmine saying she wanted to talk to me. It was from an hour earlier when I was folding clothes. I had to put my phone away while I did laundry or I would play on it and get nothing done.

I called her, but it went to her voicemail. I left her a message saying I was home and to give me a call back.

I was returning from a run with Justine when my phone rang. It was Jasmine, so I picked it up.

"Hello?" I asked, as I walked up to my apartment, juggling the phone and Justine.

"Hey, how's it going?"

"Good, how are you?"

"I'm great."

"How's Kelly?" I said, opening the door. I let go of Justine's leash when she barreled through the door. I shook my head at her. Our runs normally calmed her down. She was still hyped up.

"She's good too. I actually wanted to ask you something."

"I wanted to ask you something too. If you don't have Valentine's plans, want to go to a bitter's ball with me?" I asked, stepping into my apartment and locking the door.

"What's that?" She asked.

I told her it was an anti Valentine's party. Everyone got dressed up, no significant others and tried to hook up themselves or others. I told her all she had to do was bring a single guy. She agreed, excitedly.

"Great. We'll get together and go dress shopping with Rocky-" I started, until I heard a familiar voice in the kitchen. A wide smile broke out on my face.

"Hey Jasmine, can I call you back?" I asked, heading towards the kitchen.

"Yes, it's no big deal." She said, quickly.

I went into the kitchen and saw Trevor playing with Justine.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, grinning at him.

"I'm back, but I have no food at my place so I decided-"

I didn't let him finish. I threw my arms around him like I didn't see him 2 days ago.

"Welcome back baby!" I said, before kissing him all over his face.

It Was Always You

"All my hidden desires finally came alive
No, I never told lies to you so why would I start tonight?
Hazel eyes, I was so color blind, we were just wasting time
For my whole life, we never crossed the line
Only friends in my mind but now I realize,
It was always you
Can't believe I could not see it all this time, all this time
It was always you
Now I know why my heart wasn't satisfied, satisfied
It was always you, you
No more guessing who
Looking back now I know it was always you, always you"  It Was Always You by Maroon5

“Can I get a cherry Coke please?” I asked the bartender when he finally got to me. I stood at the corner of the bar, trying to calm down.

"Thanks." I said, taking the drink after paying and tipping the guy. I sucked it down and tried to relax. I wanted alcohol, but I didn't want a repeat of my birthday party, so I stuck to the comforting fizz of cola.

It wasn't working. I was still pissed off.

I keep telling myself that it was a long time ago. Trevor and I were completely different people back then. Everything happened for a reason. Why should I be mad when those decisions ultimately led us to being together now?

Because I was mad.

I put the glass down and headed for the exit. I needed fresh air. I stepped outside and tried to use my brother's technique of taking deep breaths. I walked to the side of the building, wrapping my arms around myself to keep my bare arms warm.

"Here Lily." I heard Trevor say from behind me, as he put my jacket on my shoulders.

"Thanks." I muttered, pushing my arms through the jacket and avoiding his eyes.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Trevor asked.

I shook my head.

"Are you ready to go?" He asked.

I shook my head again.

"What do you want Lily?" He asked, softly.

I sighed. "To go back in there, to have fun and celebrate and not ruin your night but I can't!"

"Then talk to me. I can't have fun knowing you're mad at me." Trevor said.

"I don't want to be. I want to let it go, but I'm fucking pissed. I don't understand how you could do that to me!" I cried.

"Did you- did you have feelings for Christian?" Trevor asked.

"No! That what pisses me off so much. I had feelings for you!" I pointed out.

When Trevor just looked at me, I continued.

"I wanted to be with you, even though you didn't. You showed me, over and over again that you didn't have feelings for me. I kept holding out hope that you would realize you wanted to be with me. I would have turned Christian down so I didn't mess up any chance I had with you, but that wasn't a problem cause you told him not to date me. Why would you say that?" I asked him.

"Lily, you were my best friend. I had feelings for you." Trevor answered. "You meant something to me-"

I snorted. "Sure I did. I meant so much that you dated girls that were nothing like me! You paraded them in my face when you knew how I felt about you!"

"I didn't put you in the same group as those girls. I didn't want to treat you like that. I couldn't let anyone treat you like that. I didn't want to see you get hurt." Trevor explained.

"So you made sure I didn't date? You don't think that hurt? I felt pathetic that I wasn't even asked on a date, especially after I lost weight. It sucked watching you still go out with girl after girl. It was constant rejection! It made me feel like there was something wrong with me! I still feel insecure around the Barbie type girls you're so fond of." I exclaimed.

"There was nothing wrong with you. The only excuse I have was I was young and dumb. I never wanted to hurt you. I didn't want you dating guys that didn't deserve you, but that wasn't my decision to make. I'm sorry." Trevor apologized.

I nodded but said nothing. Trevor moved in close to me, hugging me with his arms around my waist.

"I felt it back then. I thought I was just overprotective of you cause you were so sheltered and shy when we first met. I didn't realize my feelings until after you moved. I'm not young and dumb anymore. I know I need you in my life." Trevor confessed, resting his forehead against mine.

"You're beautiful..." He continued, pressing his lips against mine. "And funny... and kind...and a little crazy." He listed off as he kissed me between each one. I smiled at the last one. I knew I could be. "But I love that about you Lily. I always have."

"You're not as young and dumb." I teased him, smiling as I wrapped my arms around his neck.  "But you're sweet. I love you too." I said, kissing him this time.

He kissed me back, sliding his tongue in my mouth. Warmth spread from my stomach to my entire body. Trevor backed me into the building so he could grind his body against mine. I moaned as the warmth turned into burning, like a fire consuming me.  I turned my face away, panting.

"I want you Lily." Trevor groaned in my ear, still holding my body trapped between him and the building, his hardness rubbing against me.

"I can tell." I grinned, running my fingers through his hair.

"Can we get a room?... Maybe where Corey and Sammy are staying?" Trevor asked, pulling away slightly so he could look me in the eyes.

My body tensed and I nodded and said with no hesitation, "That sounds perfect."

***Just a short mini bonus. There will be a full post tomorrow. Just didn't want to give all the Lily and Trevor haters too much hope : -)

As always, thanks for commenting and reading!

FourFiveSeconds

"I think I've had enough
I might get a little drunk
I say what's on my mind
I might do a little time
Cause all of my kindness
Is taken for weakness
Now I'm Four Five Seconds from wildin'
And we got three more days 'til Friday
I'm just tryna make it back home by Monday mornin'
I swear I wish somebody would tell me
Ooh, that's all I want" Four Five Seconds by Rihanna feat Kanye West and Paul McCartney.

I got into Austin late Friday night. Trevor waited for me so I could drop Justine off before meeting some of his friends at a diner. Unfortunately, Amelia was there too. As soon as Trevor was talking to someone else, she turned to me.

"Hey princess. How's the long distance thing going?" Amelia asked, condescendingly.

From anyone else, it would have been a genuine concern, but I knew it wasn't coming from her.

"What distance?" I responded before pulling Trevor in close for a kiss. He smiled at me as we pulled away.

After that, Amelia didn't have anything else to say to me. I made sure I was extra affectionate to Trevor, hanging on to him and kissing him whenever possible. I saw Bilal giving us disgusted looks, but it wasn't for him, so he could look away!

After one obnoxious, long kiss as we waited by the exit to pay our bill, I saw Amelia watching us. I gave her a triumphant smile. I was startled when she actually returned it. On the way out of the diner, I tried to grab Trevor's hand. He pulled away.

"Are you sure you want to? Amelia's not watching." He asked, flatly. I could tell by the tone in his voice he was annoyed.

I put my head down. Busted. "T-Rev-"

"I thought we talked about this. Not feeding into her?" Trevor continued, cutting me off.

"You're right. I don't know why she gets to me." I said, quickly.

He took my hand but I could still tell he was upset.

"I'm sorry." I apologized, biting my lip.

"It's ok." Trevor said, squeezing my hand. He was silent on the drive home, but he never let go of my hand.

The combination of having to work, making the long drive to Austin and my guilt at mishandling Amelia hit me when I laid down in his bed. I crashed when my head hit the pillow. The only words Trevor and I exchanged were good night.

I woke up late Saturday morning, hoping to have a little morning fun with Trevor so we could officially make up. I was kissing over his face, slowly waking him out of his sleep but his phone started beeping. He popped up and grabbed it.

When he responded to the phone and not to me, I left the bed and went to brush my teeth. When I got out the bathroom, I was planning to finish what I started, but Trevor was still on the phone. He quieted when I entered.

I headed to the kitchen instead. I fed Justine before looking for food for myself. I toasted a bagel and brewed some coffee. Trevor joined me but I ignored him as I finished my breakfast.  I left him and went to the living room to watch cartoons and eat.

Maybe I was wrong for feeding into Amelia, but I did apologize. There was really nothing else I could do. I wasn't going to beg for his forgiveness...

While I finished eating and mulling things over, Trevor playfully put his arm around me and fondled me as I pretended to be engrossed in Cartoon Network. His fingers caressing me got all of my attention: They we're sending tingles everywhere he touched my skin.

My thoughts forgotten, I soon returned all his caresses until we began to make out on the couch. Bilal appeared from his room and we jumped apart.

"Morning!" I said, trying to hide my embarrassment at being caught, again by Bilal.

“No, don't go to the room. I'm leaving.” Bilal said sarcastically, stalking past us.

I frowned. “What’s up with him?”

Trevor shook his head. “Don’t worry about it.”

“Let's go to your bed...” I hinted, pulling on his t-shirt.

He pulled back and looked at his phone.

“Ummm, keep watching TV.” He smiled.

I was 5 seconds from mounting him on the couch and having my way with him, when there was a knock on the door.

“I got it!” Trevor exclaimed, hopping up to answer it. I moaned and laid my head against the couch, frustrated; until I heard a familiar voice at the door.

“Sammy?!?!” I exclaimed, rushing to the door. She was making her way in, with Corey trailing her. I gave her and Corey a hug. "What are y'all doing here?"

“Solidarity... and back-up against that bitch you ain't fucking with." Sammy smiled at me.

"No... we said moral support Sammy. You promised to be on your best behavior." Trevor said.

Corey smiled. "You believed that?"

"Best, worst... whichever's appropriate." Sammy shrugged. "Show me what you're wearing tonight."

"You want me to avoid drama, but invited Miss Drama herself?" I grinned at Trevor as I led her to Trevor's room.

"I had no other choice really..." Trevor smiled.

Sammy flicked him off. "I'm the best choice! Let's go Lily!"

We left and I showed her the blue dress I picked out after Trevor suggested it.

"I can work with that." She nodded, turning and leaving the room. I followed her. Corey and Trevor were sitting on the couch talking.

"What are we doing today Trevor?" I asked him.

"I don't know. What do you wanna do?" He asked.

"You invited them out here! You didn't plan anything?" I laughed, putting my fingers through his hair.

"Exactly. I put everything together for you. I gotta provide entertainment too?" Trevor replied.

"Considering this is your city, yeah, ya do!" Sammy said.

"Fine. I got something. Let's go." Trevor said.

We piled up into Trevor's car and he took us to the district of South Congress. It was a cool little strip, affectionately called SoCo, featuring shops, restaurants, bars, and boutiques.

We walked around aimlessly until we stopped at an antique and gift shop. There was a bunch of cool, random knick knacks. A lot of unique gift ideas. We went to a western store too where Sammy found a cute wide brown belt that she bought. When Corey and Trevor got caught up in a record display at an art gallery, Sammy and I parted from them to look in a boutique we spotted.

We were still rummaging through the racks of clothes when Corey and Trevor found us. We separated, agreeing to meet at a coffee shop we saw in an hour.

"So what's your real problem with Amelia?" Sammy asked me, as we went looked through racks of clothes together.

"She's a bitch!" I exclaimed, looking at a cute red tunic blouse.

Sammy smirked. "Aren't we all?"

"Not all the time! And she slept with Trevor." I added.

Sammy smirked again. "Haven't we all?"

I frowned. "Actually, I haven't."

Sammy stopped to look at me. "Still? Lily, what's up with you two? 'Cause if you're having doubts, you shouldn't be with him."

"No, no doubts. In the past, all of our relationships have started with sex. I'm actually enjoying not rushing things, even though it's frustrating sometimes." I explained.

"So why are you worried about Amelia? Trevor never had feelings for her. Don't say it's cause he slept with her, 'cause if it was just about sex for him, y'all wouldn't be waiting. And I slept with him and you don't feel threatened by me." Sammy stopped browsing to look at me.

"I'm not threatened-" I squirmed under her watchful eye.

I sighed. "You're right. It makes absolutely no sense. I'm just being irrational. I don't know why she bothers me. Have you ever met someone that just made you want to punch them in the face?" I asked.

Sammy laughed. "No, never. Unless I knew they were talking shit about me."

"Oh, well I guess that's just me then..."

We continued shopping, buying unique finds we loved. I found a new jacket that I wanted to wear with my dress.

We met up with the guys, who by the looks of their bags, did some shopping of their own. We then went to a group of food trucks and tried Sonora hot dogs for the first time. They were so delicious, I will never look at hot dogs the same way again.

Afterwards, we headed back to Bilal's apartment. Corey and Sammy left to check into their hotel room and change before meeting us at Cat's apartment for the pre-party party.

Sammy offered to come back to do my make up, but I turned her down. I didn't think her expertise was necessary. I coached myself that I had no one to impress at the party. It was all about Trevor and his friends' hard work and accomplishments.

I still took care curling my hair and pulling it up into a loose, low bun. I applied my make up next, a neutral smoky eye and wine lip gloss. I put my new jacket over my blue dress and slipped on a pair of black booties.

When I walked out to the living room, Trevor was waiting for me in jeans, a blue striped t-shirt and his leather jacket. He looked up and smiled at me.

"You look beautiful." He complimented me, standing up.

"Thank you. It's all for you." I smiled back at him, wrapping my arm around him.

"If it was for me, you wouldn't be wearing anything." He said, placing a kiss on my ear.

"And we wouldn't be leaving." I stated, moving my head to kiss him on the lips.

"You say that like it's a bad thing." He smiled, kissing me back.

"It is!" I said, pulling away. "We don't want to miss Cat's, yours and Black Reign's celebration." I reminded him.

"Are you being a smart ass?" Trevor asked.

I shook my head. "No. I'm proud of you. I'm glad everything is working out. Let's go party" I smiled at him, genuinely.

I truly kept that spirit when we arrived at Cat's apartment. I greeted Cat with a hug and we talked about the website and her boyfriend Kenji. She was telling us about how after the book release, Kenji would be back in Austin, deciding what to do with the site. Whether Kenji sold or not, he would be able to work on the site from Austin, so she was thrilled.

"So what happens next?" I asked Trevor when Cat left to greet other guests.

"The official relaunch. Not sure about the date, but I'll still help out with tech support just because it's my codes. It's just temporary until he decides what to do with the site." He explained.

I nodded. "Ok."

"But I'll be able to do that all remotely." Trevor smiled.

A smile broke out on my face. "Meaning?"

"Meaning I'll be back in Dallas next week." Trevor said.

I hugged him tightly. "That's the best news ever baby!"

"Another reason to celebrate."

"I was bullshitting earlier. This is my only reason to celebrate." I joked.

By the time we got drinks, Sammy and Corey arrived. Black Reign was already at the bar that was hosting the party, so I had nothing to worry about as far as Amelia was concerned. I was still glad Sammy and Corey made it. We made the rounds together, introducing them to everyone.

After they retrieved drinks, we sat together and talked over the music playing. Corey got along great with Trevor's friends. I wasn't surprised. He was a music lover too.

I was surprised by Bilal's demeanor and overall attitude. He was just... sulking, which wasn't like him at all. I asked him if he was ok, which he replied, "Fine" before heading out.

"Ok, what's really wrong with Bilal?" I asked, as we left to head to the bar.

"What do you mean?" Trevor asked.

I gave Trevor a look that said "don't be stupid."

"I mean, what do you think?" Trevor rephrased.

"I don't know. You think he's bummed out that his band didn't make it this far?" I pondered.

"That's probably part of it." Trevor agreed.

Black Reign was performing when we arrived at the bar, so we found a spot in the crowd, facing the band. Amelia already had a beautiful voice. Paired with Ian on the guitar, Casey on the drums and Johnny on the bass, the music was infectious. Even if I wanted to hate Amelia, I couldn't hate the music. I jammed out to the slow, seductive beat of their song "Wait".

Trevor placed a hand on my hip, pulling me closer so I swayed against him. I was disappointed when the song was over. Trevor pulled away from me as we applauded. I missed his body pressed intimately against me.

When the band was finished, we found an empty table. Trevor and Corey went to the bar to get more drinks. Sammy and I got settled at the table.

"Not impressed." Sammy said after they left.

I laughed at her. "You can like the music. I do."

"Still not impressed. By her or the music." Sammy repeated. I was shaking my head when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to a familiar face. It took his voice for me to place him.

"Lily. Long time no see." He said loudly over the music, looking down at me.

"Ohmygod, Christian?!? It's been forever!" I said, standing to give him a hug. I think the last time I saw him was at my college graduation.

"I know. I almost didn't recognize you." Christian smiled, sitting down at the table with us.

"Look who's talking. New York has done you good." I smiled at him, placing my hand on his shoulder. I remembered he moved there right after he graduated.

"I'm actually in California now."

"What? Since when?"

"Last March."

"No way, I moved back to Texas last April." I exclaimed.

"We should have kept in touch. Maybe you would have stayed."

I laughed at him. Sammy cleared her throat and nudged me.

"Sorry, this is my friend Sammy. Sammy, this is Christian. We all went to Baylor together... and I had no idea he was going to be here." I smiled as they shook hands.

Christian looked at me. "I produced a few tracks for Black Reign. Had to fly out."

"Really?"

"Yes. Ian called me, asked if I would, and I did." He shrugged.

"Is that what you're doing in California?" I asked.

"A little bit." He smirked.

"Any songs I'd know?" Sammy asked.

"I can't answer that. If I say yes, and you don't, I look like an idiot. If I say no, I sound like a bum."

I laughed. "No judgments here."

"I'll send you a list if you give me your number." Christan said, pulling out his phone.

"How's it going Christian?" Trevor asked him as he and Corey returned to the table.

"Good Trevor. You?" Christian asked.

"Great." Trevor responded, pulling another chair up to sit on the other side of me. He introduced Corey while he rested his hand on my thigh. "What'd you think of the show?"

"It was good. I better go congratulate them. It was nice meeting you." He nodded to Corey and Sammy. "It's always great seeing you Lily." He said, before taking off.

"I didn't know he worked on the album!" I exclaimed to Trevor.

"Neither did I." Trevor said, sipping his drink.

We made our way to congratulate the band as well. Amelia was occupied with her accolades. I did get to talk briefly with Mara and Noorie. Maybe Noorie was why Bilal was in such a weird mood. Noorie seemed perfectly fine though.

I made a bathroom trip and was walking out when I saw Christian about to leave.

"Hey! We never exchanged numbers. I still want that list of songs you produced."

"You sure Trevor is ok with that?"

"He's ok with it! Besides, Trevor's my boyfriend, not my dad. I don't need his permission." I joked, pulling out my phone.

Christian smiled. "I understand, but I also remember Trevor told me not to talk to you when y'all were just friends."

"What? We talked all the time." I said, confused. Christian was the reason I did so well in English composition and Literature. Trevor would never tell someone not to talk to me. What is he talking about?

"I meant like ask you out or dating; back in college. I have a girlfriend, but I don't know how it works with you two now." Christian shrugged.

"Number?" I asked shortly. I dialed as he rattled it off. His phone rang as I called him.

"There's my number. It works like it would have back then: ask me, then get an answer." I told him.

He chuckled. "You're right. I'll be in touch."

I walked back to the table, pissed. Why, no, how could Trevor tell someone not to date me? It hurt enough that he didn't want to be with me back then, why would he tell another guy not to date me too?

My rational side knew it was the past, ancient history. I should let it go and move forward.

I didn't fucking want to though.

I went back to the table and finished my drink. I was debating the best way to handle my feelings. I felt like I was growing to go off in 5 seconds if I didn't calm down.

"You need another Lily?" Trevor asked me.

"No, I'm good." I answered, briefly. I didn't want to ruin his night, but I wasn't just going to let it go without an explanation. "Besides, we're gonna talk later and I want to be sober for that." I warned him, with a humorless smile.

"What are we going to talk about?' Trevor asked, confused.

"Why you told Christian not to date me." I stated, looking him in the eye.

"Ok..." He nodded. With that nod, I knew Christian was telling the truth.

A part of me was hoping that maybe it was just a big misunderstanding. It wasn't, Trevor just confirmed that. The whole thing brought back every insecurity I ever had and it fueled my anger. How DARE he?!? I got up and left the table, heading straight for the bar.

"This weekend is gonna be a double celebration." Trevor told me as we talked on the phone Tuesday night.

"Of course. We gotta celebrate the website." I said, as I stretched out in bed.

The soft open of the website gave access to Kenji's business associates, including his editors and publishers, a few fellow graphic novelists, and the lucky members of his fan club. So far, the relaunched site had minor problems, but rave reviews. It surpassed everyone expectations, including Kenji's. I could hear the excitement in Trevor's voice when he told me about it. Regardless of everything, I was so proud of him.

"What else are we celebrating?"

"Black Reign's album release. The label is throwing a party. Good music, food, drinks-" Trevor explained while I tried to place the band.

I groaned when it hit me.

"I don't wanna celebrate fucking Amelia!" I protested. She was the lead singer of Black Reign. I didn't want to go to a party in her honor.

"It's not just Amelia. A lot of people contributed to the album. A lot of them are my friends. It's their night too... If you don't wanna go-"

I sighed, dramatically. "Fine. I'll go. How should I dress?"

"Umm, however you want?" Trevor answered.

"I don't want to look out of place. Especially around Amelia." I said.

"Why do you care what she thinks?" Trevor laughed.

I sighed again. "I don't know. She just gets under my skin."

"I know. She knows it too, that's why she keeps instigating because she knows she can." Trevor lectured me.

"So basically, it's my fault."

"I'm not saying that. She likes getting a reaction out of people. If you don't give her one, she'll move on." Trevor explained.

"I'll try..."

"No, just do."

I groaned loudly. "I hate her!!!"

"Why?"

"Because you fucked her." I said.

"And I stopped. You always forget that part." Trevor responded.

"Yeah, but she's like an evil little punk rock Barbie. Completely with blonde hair, blue eyes, weed brownies and a new album." I grumbled.

"You forgot plastic and cold. Why would I want that when I have you?" Trevor reassured me.

I smiled. "Good answer Trevor."

"It's the truth Lily."

"Just ask Cat what she's wearing for me, ok?" I agreed. I was going to be positive. I was not going to let anything Amelia say or do affect me.

"You should wear the blue dress."

"The one with no back and front?" I grinned.

"Oh yeah, that one."

"Maybe." I said.

-----------

Wednesday, I got to work earlier than normal so I would have plenty of time to leave at 11am for Darren's high school signing ceremony. Apparently, this was a thing in high school. I didn't really follow college football anymore, but high school athletes committing to a school was a big deal. Darren was a sought after running back, so his decision was huge. I was honored that he wanted me to be a part of it.

After my last appointment before lunch, I quickly changed into a long sleeved top and left on my black work slacks. I traded my tennis shoes for low heels and headed for Darren's school. I was following Rachel's financial advice, so I packed a sandwich for lunch that I ate on the ride over to the school.

Forrest instructed me to park in the front so I could get a visitors past. He gave me his classroom number so I could find him and we could walk to the auditorium together with his class.

I found the front office with no problem and I made my way inside. After I handed over my ID and got a visitors sticker, the front office secretary pointed me in the direction of Forrest's health class.

When I found it, the door was open, so I walked in. Only one student was in his class. Forrest was at his desk, talking to him.

He saw me at the door and waved me in. "C'mon in Lily." He stood up so I could take a sit at his desk.

He turned to the boy. "We'll go over the test together after the signing."

When the student left, I turned to him.

"Where is your class?" I asked.

"Lunch. It ends in 15 minutes. I need to go to my office in the training room. Do you want to walk with me or stay here?" He asked.

"I'll walk."

We walked to the training room. It was kinda weird being back in high school, even if it wasn't mine. I shuddered.

"What's wrong with you?" Forrest asked.

"Just thinking how much I hated high school." I relayed.

Forrest laughed. "It wasn't that bad."

"Maybe not for you: You lost your baby fat in high school. I gained all mine plus some."

"Awww, were you teased?"

"Nope. Ignored."

"Does it make you feel better to know every male student is noticing you now?" Forrest asked as we entered the training room.

"Yes. Because teen boys rock my socks." I joked, following him.

"Lily, Forrest." Coach Green said, giving us both a little nod and me a strange look. I guessed he wasn't expecting me. He was sitting on a massage table by the door, working his shoulder with elastic bands.

"Hey Coach." Forrest said, before heading to his small office in the front of the training room.

"Perfect timing." I said, smiling as I stood by him. "How's it feeling?"

"It's good. Not too sore today. Ready for this sling to be off." He responded.

"That's funny. Sandra, my boss, just talked to me on Monday about another X-Ray. We'll be able to assess your healing and see if you still need the sling."

"Sounds good." He agreed.

I then took a little tour of the training room. It was small, but well equipped for a high school facility. I was really impressed.

I was checking out the paraffin wax bath when Forrest stuck his head out his office.

"Hey gangsta Barbie! You ready to head back?" Forrest asked.

"Gangsta Barbie?" I questioned, walking towards his office.

"Have you been on Facebook today?" He asked.

"No..."

He booted up his laptop. He pulled up Facebook and went to my page. I leaned in closer when I saw Trevor posted a video to my wall. It was from Saturday morning, when I was cooking us breakfast. My hair was pulled up in a damp bun, I was wearing an oversized, off the shoulder sweater and leggings. I was singing and dancing to music as I cooked in front of the stove.

Trevor captioned it.

Lilypad is a triple threat: Sings, Dances, and Cooks. Most beautiful thing I've seen #WakeUpCall #BreakfastAndAShow #PopStarBarbie

"Really Trevor? I'm keeping his money." I exclaimed, trying to be pissed, but smiling.

Forrest laughed. "It's a compliment Lilypad." Forrest teased.

"You shut up!"

We made our way back to his classroom and I sat at his desk again. I pulled out my phone and read through the comments on the video Trevor posted.

Sammy: She's a threat alright... #I'mScared

Rocky: lol @Sammy. I feel threatened just watching it.

Bianca: Go Lily!... How'd the food turn out though? #FoodPics

Rachel: I heard her sing Mariah Carey karaoke. That was verbal assault. Keep rapping Lily! Maybe hip-hop Barbie?

Forrest: #GangstaBarbie @Rachel

Bilal: Sadly, she could be on pop radio right now #Iggy

Jasmine: Love Iggy! Ignore the haters! #Fancy

Cam: This is the most beautiful thing you've seen, @Trevor? You most have seen some rough things...

Serena: Trevor did say seen, not heard. #JustDance

Trevor: The food was perfect @ Bianca. You could taste the love and positivity in it. If I could wake up to seeing and hearing this every morning, I'd be a lucky man

Jordan: Awwww, so sweet! Even if it's lies Lol

Corey: Anyone else freaked out by the music selection? Marky Mark?!?!  =-O

I quickly wrote a reply.

Me: Shout out to all my haters! #Motivators
Marky Mark goes hard @Corey #FeelTheVibrations
I forgive you, cause your heart was in the right place, but never film me without my consent! @Trevor

Trevor: Oh-uh, I have a lot of videos to erase...

I put my phone away as the bell rang. All the students found their seats. Most of them gave me curious glances before sitting down.

"Ok guys. Head to the auditorium. I'm taking roll at the door, so if you're not there in 5 minutes, you will be counted absent." Forrest said, in a firm, authoritative voice.

The student left and we followed. I stood with Forrest at the door as he marked off the attendance sheet. I recognized Darren's girlfriend as she walked into the auditorium with a group of friends. She looked different with honey blonde hair, but the hostile look she gave me was familiar. I couldn't help rolling my eyes a little.

In exactly 5 minutes, we went into the auditorium. We sat towards the front with the other school staff.

I saw Darren sitting at a table on the stage. 8 other boys sat at the table too facing the crowd. A group of men, I was guessing coaches, stood behind them.

The ceremony got started with the principal saying a few words. She emphasized that their achievements in the classroom was just a remarkable as there athleticism in their sports. She told them as long as they stayed focused, dedicated and worked hard, they would be successful no matter where they went.

The athletic director then went down the line of students. There were cheers and excitement for every student. They announced their college by placing a hat with their future school's logo on their head. Then each student was given a little time to say why they picked that school.

Darren's last name is Woods, so he went last. I was stunned silently when he put a green Baylor cap on his head.

Everyone around cheered and I sat there, dumbfounded. I didn't even know my Alma Mater was in the running. Of course we talked about it being a division 1 school, but I couldn't believe it!

"I had the same reaction when he told me." Forrest smiled. "I tried to talk him out of it-"

"You better not!" I squeaked, pinching his arm.

"Ow, just kidding. It was the best choice for him." Forrest said, rubbing the spot I pinched.

"I'm excited to stay in Texas, with an explosive offensive and a great school supporting the team. I felt most at home at the campus and I can't wait to join the team this summer. Go bears." Darren said, with a little grin in my direction. I cheered loudly for him when the shock wore off.

Afterwards, I joined him with his parents. Forrest had to go back to his classroom with his students.

"Darren! Why didn't you tell me Baylor was a contender?" I asked, giving him a hug.

"They weren't offering a full scholarship at first. After the playoff game, they did." Darren explained.

"Well, I know it's too late to sell you on it, but you made a great choice. The academics are amazing. The people are awesome. I only have positive things to say about Baylor. I made life-long friends there. One is my best friend. One is my boyfriend. Another is my boyfriend's best friend! It is an amazing community. I know you will thrive there." I gushed.

"I hope so." Darren smiled.

"I know so!" I said, hugging him again. "And it's so close!  I can't wait to see you play at the new stadium!"

I stayed a little while longer. Darren really made my day. I was so excited, I got on the phone to tell Trevor what happened and to warn him we would be making trips to Baylor's home football games come next fall.

The phone was ringing in my ear as I walked out the auditorium.

"Slut..." I heard someone cough. It was totally obvious and ridiculous. There was giggling to confirm what I heard. Guess high school didn't change much. Still mean girls with nothing better to do than bullying other students.

Trevor answered the phone.

"You will never guess what school he picked..." I hinted before telling him everything.

Thursday night, I pulled on skinny jeans and a pretty purple blouse. I was meeting Jasmine, Kelly and Rocky for drinks and scooping out a potential new bartender for Sammy as well. Sammy told me about her but the bartender didn't have much of a social media presence, so Sammy wanted to check her out. Rose, the bartender, reached out to Sammy so she knew Sammy's face. Sammy enlisted me to check her out, undercover. I agreed, but decided to turn it into a girl's night as well.

I was the first to arrive at the bar. It was in Uptown Dallas.  A lot of young, professionals mingling and unwinding after a day at work.

I spotted the bartender right away. With her half shaved head, she was easy to spot. She was pouring two beers before smoothly handing them over to a cocktail waitress.

I made my way to her section of the bar and sat.

"Hey, what can I get you?" Rose asked me, a moment after I sat.

"Nothing right now. I'm waiting for my friends." I said.

"Ok, just to let you know, it's happy hour till 7pm, half off draft beers, wells and house wine. Wave when you're ready." She said, before moving to the next person.

She definitely looked the part of a honey bee. Gorgeous red hair and a pretty face. She was short and curvy, but took control of her station. Maybe not as talkative, but neither was I as a bartender. I was more knowledge about drinks then making small talk with strangers. She didn't give me a bad vibe at all.

Jasmine and Kelly arrived together, and I stood to greet them.

"Happy hour! Let's drink!" Kelly smiled.

Jasmine looked exasperated, so I smiled at Kelly.

"You sure? Are you trying for Omar Jr?" I asked.

"No, still have a few more weeks." Kelly explained.

I nodded and waved the bartender over. I had her explained the wells and house wines before we ordered. Kelly ordered a shot of tequila while I stuck with wine and Jasmine did the same. Rocky joined us shortly after, ordering wine too. Kelly pouted when no one did a shot with her.

"Fine, I'll take one too."  Rocky agreed.

After their shot, we caught up. I asked Kelly how she's been doing at work. She told me it's been ok. She still had her moments, but for the most part, she was feeling back to herself. Kelly changed the topic to Valentine's Day.

Kelly had nothing planned, but she was glad it fell on a Saturday. With her and Omar's work schedule, they normally couldn't celebrate on the day of. She was hoping for a nice quiet evening at home.

Rocky was planning this elaborate little stay-cation for her and Brandon on Valentine's Day. A fancy hotel in downtown Dallas and was picking up Jordans for him. I was surprised she was going all out for Valentine's Day. Normally, she wanted her boyfriend to treat her.  She was switching it up this year. It made me feel bad cause I hadn't even thought about Trevor's gift.

"I'll have my dad's place to myself. My dad is taking Stephanie to Mexico. So at least I'll be alone, at home, miserable." Jasmine complained.

"What's up with your apartment?" I asked, genuinely curious and trying to change the subject.

She scowled. "My sister wants to live together."

"What? Really?" Kelly asked.

"Jocelyn right?" I said, remembering Jake's youngest half sister who had a 4 year old daughter.

Jasmine nodded. "Yes, my step dad even offered to help us buy a house."

"That's a good thing, right?" Rocky asked.

"No... yes.... I don't know. It's a great thing if it wasn't Jocelyn. She's barely been working, and she has Bella. I'll take Bella over Jocelyn." Jasmine lamented.

"Why do you say that? " I asked.

"Jocelyn is the worst. She would just leave in the middle of the night when Bella was a baby; like it was okay because she was sleeping. She lied about jobs just to get out of the house. I hoped she changed, but I don't wanna deal with it if she didn't." Jasmine explained.

"Don't do it then." Kelly said.

"I can't just say that. My step dad is offering a house. I can't be a bitch about it. Jocelyn feels like we treat her differently because we have different dads." Jasmine explained.

"Don't let her guilt you into it, especially if she's untrustworthy. That has nothing to do with y'alls dads. If she hasn't had a job long, what make you think she won't live off you?" Rocky pointed out.

"My step dad will pay her way, worst case scenario." Jasmine said. "And a house would be better than anything I can afford."

"Not trying to be biased or anything, but you said you wanted to live on your own." I said.

"I do.. " Jasmine nodded.

"Then do it. It might not be a house, but it will be yours. That's the best feeling, believe me. You'd rather live in a box than in a mansion full of drama." I told her.

Jasmine nodded. "My brother told me the same thing."

I scoffed. "He stole that from me. My aunt told me that and I told him."

"So technically, he stole from your aunt? Jasmine grinned.

"Same thing." I laughed.

We had a great time, sipping drinks and chatting up Rose. She opened up a lot more as Jasmine keep barging her with questions.

"How do you deal with drunk guys hitting on you?" Jasmine asked.

"I make it very clear that I play for the other team." Rose smiled.

Jasmine laughed. "Works every time."

"Yeah, I don't mind hot girls hitting on me though." Rose winked at Jasmine before walking off. We all started laughing while Jasmine flushed.

"I think we found you a roommate candidate." Kelly laughed. "And a Valentine's date!"

"I'm definitely recommending her to Sammy, so you know she can keep a job..." I added.

"Most likely, no kid." Rocky joined in teasing.

"Fuck y'all." Jasmine blushed.

"No Jasmine. We don't go that way!" I laughed. "But I have nothing but good vibes and support and love if you decide to go that way."
